The picturesque landscapes of Italy have always fascinated European artists and writers. Hundreds of painters, writers and thinkers have spent longer, shorter periods of time studying monuments from antiquity, the Renaissance and later the Baroque. Between the two world wars, many Hungarian artists, sculptors and architects received state scholarships at the Hungarian Academy in Rome.
How did the Italian capital become a determining factor for the Hungarian art scene? What was the impact on Hungarian art of the scholarships received at the Hungarian Academy in Rome between the two world wars?
The Judit Virág Gallery's niche exhibition Rome-Budapest, opening in early 2024, will be open to the winning bidder and friends (max. 6 people) during a private guided tour with Anna Kelen.
